Research lab for agent-based modeling

Mission: Advance the awareness and adoption of agent-based modeling through content, software, and research.

Services

Content

The ABM Digest aggregates the latest articles, papers, events, and resources related to agent-based modeling and its various uses.

Software

rapidabm is being developed as an open-source ABM framework geared for researchers. ABM models can be run in browser-based notebooks with minimal programming.

Research

We work with companies and institutions to conduct ABM research projects.

Bio

I am a computational and data scientist with degrees in Computer Science (United States Naval Academy) and Data Analytics Engineering (George Mason University). The first 25 years of my career was spent building software and data science projects for a wide variety of industries. Most of my positions have been leadership-based. I first became interested in agent-based modeling, and complexity science in general, in 1998 when I read the book Out of Control by Kevin Kelly. Since that time, I've committed myself to studying and experimenting with genetic algorithms, cellular automata, and agent-based models. Blue Crab Technologies combines my skills/education in computer and data science with my interest in complexity theory to advance the field of agent-based modeling.
